Facebook CEO encourage Nigerians to imbibe the Spirit of Entrepreneurship for speedy advancement of the Nation. By so doing, poverty, hardship, joblessness and social vices will be a thing of past.
It is a common saying that where one treasure is there lays ones heart. It could be said that is on this background that the young Billionaire arrived quietly in Lagos yesterday and his first point of call was the Co-Creator Hub, Yaba. Mr. Zurkerberg walked on foot, trekking through the streets of Yaba Lagos.
The CO-Creator Hub is an internet services provider that provides all a lot of services to users. They build, develop and launch applications through social media – Facebook. As at the time of this reporting, they have over 3,000 clients that they provide internet services to with Lagos only.
Nigeria is said to be the highest number of Facebook usage in Africa and increasing taking lead in the world. The benefits attached to this Facebook cannot be pen down. Recently, we discovered that business of all kinds have taken new dimension with the use of Facebook in promoting their products, goods and services and such information get across to a wide range of potential users and targeted users.
In the year 2015, Facebook witness huge traffic on their site and other platforms like the Instagram and Twitter during the Nigeria general Election where electorates and non-electorates made their choice of Presidential Candidates known. Facebook was seen as the better platform to educate electorates and the general public in Nigeria on Political Parties promises and what they stand to gain if they vote them into power. This was a huge boast and a lot of money was made by Facebook team.
According to him, “This is my first trip to sub-Saharan Africa. I’ll be meeting with developers and entrepreneurs, and learning about the startup ecosystem in Nigeria. The energy here is amazing and I’m excited to learn as much as I can.
Our first stop is the Co-creation Hub Nigeria (CcHUB) in Yaba. I got to talk to kids at a summer coding camp and entrepreneurs who come to CcHub to build and launch their apps. I’m looking forward to meeting more people here he added.
He further stated that if other enterprise that provide internet services or are into social networking can emulates the CcHub, Nigerians will be more self-reliance, creative and productive. The world will see that Nigeria is a good place for business investment and other activities.
Mr. Mark Zurkerberg was seen working in the street of Yaba without special body guard or uniform men. That alone prove the notion of many people out there, Nigeria is a safe place to be, accommodating, business minded individual and relaxation after long work.
